The oil film around the formation particles hinders the acid or fracturing fluid from reacting with the formation rock. Mutual solvents mixed in the acid or fracturing fluid will dissolve the oil film and wet the formation particles. Therefore, mutual solvents are usually used in most acid fracturing systems to improve the acidizing efficiency by dissolving the oil film and wetting the formation particles.
